The Two Biggest Challenges for Companies: Lack of Digitalization and Organizational Weaknesses
By Nagihan Cengiz Çelebi / Turkey Correspondent, trbusiness.de
One of the biggest challenges facing the Turkish economy is that many companies lag behind in digitalization and organizational structures. Particularly, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are still trying to survive using traditional methods. The opportunities of the digital age are either overlooked or difficult to implement effectively.
Adding to this is another critical issue: lack of organization. Companies that react only to daily demands rather than focusing on long-term planning and strategy struggle to build the necessary structures for sustainable growth, putting them at a competitive disadvantage from the outset.
In my consulting experience, I have frequently observed that many companies are already built on a crisis-prone foundation from the start. The main reasons for this are insufficient use of digital tools and internal organizational weaknesses.
However, there are also positive developments in the business world. Conscious use of support programs, integration of a young, digitally competent workforce, and increasing female employment demonstrate that transformation is possible.
Particularly in quality management and brand development, approaches that go beyond mere “facades” and deliver real solutions to companies’ needs are gaining importance. Such strategies significantly enhance the chances of long-term success.
For this transformation to be sustainable, digitalization must become an integral part of corporate culture. Companies that deploy the right technology at the right time and organize their internal structures efficiently can turn crises into opportunities. Otherwise, it will become increasingly difficult for small businesses to survive in markets dominated by larger players.
In summary: The future of the Turkish economy lies in knowledge, digital transformation, and strong organizational structures. The uncertainties brought by crises can become real opportunities for companies that successfully navigate this change.
