Turkish Game Company Peak Games Sold to Zynga for $1 Billion

Istanbul-based game developer Peak Games has been acquired by U.S. gaming giant Zynga for approximately $1 billion, marking one of the largest exits in Turkey’s startup ecosystem to date.

The deal stands out as one of the most significant acquisitions involving a Turkish technology company, further cementing the country’s growing presence in the global gaming industry. With this transaction, Peak Games becomes Turkey’s seventh startup to achieve a billion-dollar valuation.

Millions of Players Worldwide

Founded in 2010, Peak Games built a strong global user base through its focus on mobile puzzle games. Its flagship titles, including Toon Blast and Toy Blast, have reached millions of players worldwide and consistently rank among top-grossing games in their category.

Zynga aims to strengthen its portfolio through the acquisition by integrating Peak Games’ high-performing titles, reinforcing its position in the competitive mobile gaming market.

A Strategic Milestone for Turkey

Beyond the corporate scale, the acquisition represents a critical milestone for Turkey’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Industry experts view the deal as a clear signal that Turkish startups are capable of scaling globally and generating significant enterprise value.

Peak Games CEO Sidar Şahin stated following the announcement that the transaction serves as tangible proof that globally successful ventures can emerge from Turkey.

Turkey Emerging as a Game Development Hub

The acquisition also reflects the rapid momentum of Turkey’s gaming sector in recent years. Increased investor interest, a strong talent pool, and a mobile-first development approach are positioning the country as a regional hub for game development.

Analysts expect this upward trend to pave the way for new unicorns to emerge from Turkey’s startup ecosystem in the near future.
